Whales
Blue whales
Blue whales are the largest animals in the world, they are bigger than all the other whales. Blue whales feed on krill, an adult blue whale can eat up to 40 million krill a day. Whales have been hunted a lot lately but blue whales are hard to catch or even to kill.
Sperm whales
Sperm Whales are the largest of the toothed whales.They weigh about 40 tonnes and they grow up to about 19 meters long. They are the champion divers, the longest ever recorded dive was 90 metres and dives of the Sperm whales can reach the depths of three kilometers or more. One Sperm whale was found with over 18,000 squid beaks In its stomach.
Southern Right Whales
Southern Right whales have massive heads which is a home to worms and lice. The whale was easy to catch because it floated when harpooned and was easy to approach.
Killer whales
A killer whale is a toothed whale, they have long jaws. Although killer whales sometimes eat fish and squid, they really prefer eating penguins, seals and even other whales.
Humpback whales
Humpback whales are baleen whales. The baleen whales are the blue, fin, minke, right, and sei whales.Whales blow through a blowhole. The blowhole closes when the whale dives. Under their skin they have a thick layer of blubber up to 15 centimeters thick.
